話題が変わって「カルカソンヌ城塞」のお話

南フランスの世界遺産「カルカソンヌ」ですが、、ラヴィデシャトーの名前もカルカソンヌ城から頂いています。
13世紀にフランス王ルイ9世が二重に城壁を巡らせ難攻不落の城といわれましたが、スペインと平和条約が結ばれた後は、ヨーロッパ最大級の城塞都市としてよみがえり世界遺産になりました。
街の名前もカルカソンヌです。当時街を納めていた「カルカスCarcas」が勝利の鐘を鳴らした（sonner)に由来するといわれます。この地域の家庭で豆や鴨や豚の腸詰を煮込んだものが、カス―ルとなり、今のカスレになったそうです。驚きですね。
